Donation Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains how donations made through Scholar Ghana are collected, processed, used, and accounted for.
How Donations Are Processed
All donations are processed securely by Paystack, a licensed payment service provider. You may donate by debit or credit card, Mobile Money, or a supported bank payment method. Scholar Ghana never sees or stores your full card number, PIN, or Mobile Money credentials. Every donation is independently verified against Paystack's own transaction records before it is recorded as successful — a browser confirmation alone is never treated as proof of payment.
Anonymous & Logged-In Donations
You may donate with or without an account. Anonymous donations are recorded with only the information needed to process payment and deliver a receipt, and are never linked to any user account. Donations made while logged in appear in your personal donation history. In both cases, every donation receives a unique reference and receipt, viewable and printable online, and emailed to the donor.
Public Display of Support
If you choose to display your name publicly as a supporter, your name and an optional message may appear in the "Recent Donor Impact" section of our homepage. Your donation amount is never displayed publicly, regardless of this choice.
How Donations Are Used
Donations fund Scholar Ghana Scholarship awards and directly related costs — tuition contributions, textbooks and learning materials, and processing-fee sponsorships for students who cannot otherwise afford to apply. Scholarship winners and aggregate impact figures (such as total funds raised and students supported) are published on our homepage for transparency.
Refunds
Donations are voluntary contributions and are generally nonrefundable once processed. If you believe a donation was made in error (for example, a duplicate charge), please contact us at info@scholarghana.org with your receipt number, and we will review the request.
Scholarship Processing Fee
The GHS 10 scholarship application processing fee is a separate, nonrefundable payment required before a scholarship application can be finally submitted, regardless of the outcome of that application. It is not a donation and is not eligible for the same review process described above.
Questions
For any question about a specific donation or receipt, contact us at info@scholarghana.org with your receipt or transaction reference.
